TEACHER BANNED FOR LIFE FROM TEACHING FOR SEXUALLY MOTIVATED RELATIONSHIP WITH A CHILD AND DISHONESTY
Charles Drinnan, instructed by Kingsley Napley LLP, successfully represented the Teaching Regulation Agency in a case before a Professional Conduct Panel.
The case concerned allegations of unacceptable professional conduct and conduct that may bring the professional into disrepute. The teacher developed an inappropriate relationship with a child, sending inappropriate messages, including a topless photograph and heart emojis, gifts and money. The teacher then deleted evidence of the relationship, which the Panel found to be dishonest.
The teacher had denied his conduct was sexually motivated or dishonest, but the Panel found that the teacher’s actions were sexually motivated and that he had behaved dishonestly throughout the investigation.
The teacher was prohibited from teaching indefinitely. In view of the seriousness of the allegations found proved, the teacher is not entitled to apply for restoration of his eligibility to teach.
