COMPANY FINED £100,000 FOR BREACH OF HEALTH & SAFETY REGULATIONS

Charles Drinnan successfully represented the Health and Safety Executive in a Prosecution against a marine contractor for breaching working at height regulations. The company, who had contracts to repair Royal Navy warships and vessels, acted in a way that could have resulted in serious injury or death of two workers who removed equipment on a vessel’s deck in breach of Regulation 4(1) of the Work At Height Regulations 2005.

The company, which had a turnover of £18.5 million in 2022, was fined £100,000 plus costs.
