MOTHER AND HER BOYFRIEND CONVICTED OF MURDER OF 18-MONTH-OLD BOY
Jack Benham and Sian Hedges were both convicted today of the murder of her son, following a 9-week trial at Maidstone Crown Court. Alfie Phillips died on 28th November 2020 following a sustained assault during which he suffered serious injuries including fractures to both his arms, one leg and multiple ribs. He also had multiple bruises to his face, head and body. Injuries to his mouth revealed an attempt to smother him. The defendants will be sentenced on 19th December 2023.
