MOTHER AND HER BOYFRIEND SENTENCED TO LIFE IMPRISONMENT FOR MURDER OF 18 MONTH-OLD
Jack Benham and Sian Hedges, who were convicted in November 2023 of murdering Sian Hedges’ son Alfie Phillips, following a frenzied and sustained attack on him in November 2020, were sentenced today at Maidstone Crown Court. Mr Justice Cavanagh, referring to the assault on the 18 month-old as ‘vicious and brutal’ imposed life sentences on both defendants, with minimum terms of 23 years and 19 year respectively.
