FOUR MEN SENTENCED FOR CONSPIRACY TO SMUGGLE 380KG OF COCAINE

Amy Oliver prosecuted the sentencing hearing of four defendants for their roles in a conspiracy to evade the prohibition on bringing drugs into the UK. The defendants were part of a group of seven men who had planned to smuggle hundreds of kilograms of cocaine into Cornwall by collecting it at sea in a Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat.

The defendants sentenced on Friday received sentences of 24 years, 21 years 8 months, 19 years, and 17 years 7 months, reflecting the different roles they each played in the conspiracy. One defendant was also sentenced for other offences including possession of a firearm.

Amy Oliver was led by Frederick Hookway of 5 King's Bench Walk at the trial of two of the defendants, who were convicted by the jury in June 2025. The case was investigated by the NCA.
