CONVICTION FOR TOM NICHOLSON FOR ATTEMPTED MURDER AND WOUNDING WITH INTENT
Tom Nicholson represented the Prosecution at Peterborough Crown Court in the case of R v Field, where the 65- year-old defendant was convicted of attempted murder, wounding with intent to cause GBH and having a bladed article in a public place.
It was the Prosecution case that the defendant had taken a large kitchen knife from his home address and driven 2 hours to find his estranged wife, who had just filed for divorce. However his pregnant daughter-in-law was driving his wife’s car that day, leading to an incident where he stabbed her so forcefully that the knife passed through her forearm. He also stabbed another man in the groin and slashed towards his throat.
The defendant Mr Field, a 65 year old father of six and grandfather of twelve, was convicted after a 10-day trial.
