CONVICTION BY A MILITARY BOARD OF ARMY RECRUIT WHO SEXUALLY ASSAULTED FELLOW RECRUIT ON A NIGHT OUT

Jenny Burgess successfully prosecuted an army recruit for three offences of sexual assault against a fellow recruit. The trial was held at the Court Martial sitting at Bulford Military Court Centre. The offences were committed whilst both parties were staying overnight in an AirBnB whilst on weekend leave from Army Recruitment Training in Winchester. They were witnessed, in part, by another recruit. The victim of the assaults immediately reported what had occurred to Welfare and the Services Police were subsequently contacted. The defendant was convicted by a military Board. Sentencing has been adjourned until the end of July.

Jenny was instructed by Graham Coombes of the Services Prosecution Authority.
