MAHESH KARU SECURES ACQUITTAL IN RAPE AND ROBBERY CASE
Mahesh Karu secured the acquittal of a 25-year-old man charged with Robbery, Rape and Having a bladed article.
The defendant was alleged to have carried a kitchen knife to an AirBnB, where he was said to have robbed a masseuse of cash, before forcing her to perform oral sex and injuring her with the knife. Following trial, the defendant was acquitted of robbery, rape and having a bladed article, and convicted of ABH; sentenced on the basis of excessive self-defence.
