CUSTODIAL SENTENCE FOR PERVERTING THE COURSE OF JUSTICE
Louise Gallagher was recently sentenced at Wood Green Crown Court in a case prosecuted by Dominic Hockley. Ms Gallagher received a custodial sentence of four years and eight months after she admitted three counts of perverting the course of justice in relation to false evidence concerning claims of sexual assault.
Ms Gallagher had sued two previous employers for sex discrimination and unfair dismissal, and to support these claims faked a doctor’s note about cancer treatment, lied on oath to a tribunal judge, and gave police details of a fictional eyewitness to the alleged assaults. Judge Timothy Godfrey described her conduct as “prolonged, blatant, and egregious... liable to undermine public justice”.
Dominic was instructed by Paul Goddard at the CPS Complex Casework Unit.
