CONVICTIONS SECURED IN BABY CRUSHING CASE

Following a month-long trial in the Crown Court at Portsmouth, a jury has returned unanimous verdicts against two parents for Causing or Allowing Serious Injury to their 6-week-old baby. Expert evidence was called incorporating Radiology, Paediatrics, Clinical Genetics, and Forensic Medicine to establish the infant’s abdomen was held and crushed across two occasions, resulting in 8 rib fractures.
