SARAH GAUNT ACTS IN LANDMARK COURT OF APPEAL JUDGMENT
Sarah Gaunt acted as lead counsel in a landmark judgment which confirmed "digital assets" (in game currency/instantiated data code) are "property" for the purposes of criminal dishonesty offences.
Guidance was provided by the Court of Appeal regarding the approach Courts of first instance should take and the test to apply when determining whether digital assets and other matters constitute "other intangible property".
A full copy of the judgment in R v Lakeman is accessible on The National Archives.
Sarah was instructed by Samantha Woolley at CPS East Midlands.
