PAUL CAVIN KC AND SAM BARKER SECURE MURDER CONVICTION

Paul Cavin KC and Sam Barker prosecuted Norbert Maiksner for the ‘brutal’ murder of his former girlfriend before Mr Justice Murray at Portsmouth Crown Court.

Mr Maiksner refused to attend court for the entirety of the case, having been found by a psychiatrist to be voluntarily refusing to engage with proceedings. Special procedures had to be adopted to ensure his trial could continue. He was unanimously convicted by the jury and sentenced to life with a minimum term of 24 years.
