JENNY BURGESS SUCCESSFULLY PROSECUTES OPERATION HEPIALUS

Jenny Burgess secures conviction after trial of Zak Archbold who facilitated the importation of 188kg of cocaine through the UPS Fast Parcel Service within his role as Pre-Load Team Leader at the Stanford-Le-Hope UPS delivery centre. Mr Archbold worked to ensure that the packages of cocaine went onto the correct UPS vans for onward delivery to be intercepted and collected by couriers run by internal UK suppliers. The case rested on the successful attribution of Mr Archbold as the CIPHR user “KING”.

Co-conspirator Steven Bullen, a large-scale cocaine importer and class A supplier, had already pleaded guilty. Other conspirators remain at large.

This was a National Crime Agency Investigation. Jenny was instructed by Gemma Vincent of CPS Midlands and Wales Serious and Economic Organised Crime International Directorate.
