CONVICTION & SENTENCE SECURED

Sally Mertens successfully prosecuted Deniz Karaniev who was found guilty by a jury of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, coercive and controlling behaviour in an intimate or family relationship, three counts of anal rape and attempted criminal damage.  During the trial, he pleaded guilty to causing or inciting prostitution for gain.   He was found to be dangerous and was sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment with an extended licence period of 4 years.
