Nicole Shaw

YEAR OF CALL 2023

Nicole accepts instructions to defend and prosecute across Chambers’ areas of expertise. She has a busy and varied Crown Court practice, with experience beyond her call in serious crime, violence, drugs, and fraud. As well as her standard practice, she has appeared in a wide range of matters from an application for an interim slavery and trafficking risk order to confiscation enforcement. She has experience in sensitive work, representing vulnerable and youth defendants across various stages of the criminal justice system.

Nicole volunteers for the Schools Consent Project and as a mentor for State2Bar and Young Legal Aid Lawyers.

  • R v K and Others: Theft of a motor vehicle linked to an attempted murder (Kingston Crown Court, 2026) – junior alone (8 week trial).

    R v S: Perverting the course of justice (Croydon Crown Court, 2026) – led by Sally Mertens.

    R v S: S18 - Grievous bodily harm with intent (Wood Green Crown Court, 2025) – junior alone.

    R v P: Dangerous driving, criminal damage, and assault (Aylesbury Crown Court, 2025) - junior alone. 

    R v R: Domestic violence - two counts of intentional strangulation and two counts of common assault (Central Criminal Court - Nightingale, 2024) - junior alone.

    R v G: Burglary and going equipped (Wood Green Crown Court, 2024) - junior alone.

  • R v A: Attempted murder (Wood Green Crown Court, 2025) – led by Nicholas Alexander.
