Mahesh specialises in Crime, with experience prosecuting and defending a broad range of criminal cases including sexual offences, violence, offensive weapons and firearms, drug-dealing, burglary, and fraud. He also has experience in proceedings under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 and has an in depth knowledge of legal professional privilege and disclosure, having been instructed as independent counsel to undertake disclosure reviews.
He has experience representing young and vulnerable individuals as well as those with mental health issues and learning disabilities, and appears in cases with particularly vulnerable witnesses.
Mahesh is regularly privately instructed to advise in all aspects of criminal work and receives instructions to appear in the Magistrates’ Court and Crown Court privately.
As a Grade 1 CPS Advocate Panel member, Mahesh regularly appears in the Crown Court on behalf of the CPS, and has prosecuted on behalf of other agencies such as TfL.
Before joining Chambers, Mahesh worked at a London based criminal solicitor’s firm, gaining an understanding of the way in which cases are litigated, allowing him to better assist Instructing Solicitors.
