Tim is ranked as a leading junior in Chambers & Partners 2016 and has defended and prosecuted in a wide variety of criminal matters. He is a grade 4 for the purposes of general prosecution work and the Fraud Panel. He has extensive experience leading in multi-handed prosecutions and as a result is familiar with all matters arising under RIPA, PII and common evidential features associated with that type of case such as cell-site evidence. Tim is also a member of the Rape Specialist Panel and has extensive experience in matters arising out of sexual allegations as well as kidnapping and human trafficking cases – having been instructed as lead counsel in both.

Tim has developed a specialism in defending in cases involving allegations of sexual nature and those pertaining to violence – ‘people cases’ – bringing to bear significant experience in these areas and is noted for his hard work and assiduous approach.

o R. v Daramolla and Others: Leading counsel in series of trials relating to a bank fraud.

o R. v Bishop and Others: Leading Counsel in five handed trial relating to kidnapping, blackmail and torture.

o R. v Buirds: Counsel instructed to defend a police officer charged with causing death by dangerous driving.

o R. v Esale and Others: Leading Counsel in nine handed trial relating to a conspiracy to rob. 

o R. v Gil and Others: Leading Counsel in seven handed case relating to human trafficking and slavery.

o R. v Allison and Others: Leading Counsel in ten handed trial relating to allegations of drug trafficking and money laundering.

o R. v Fischer and Others: Leading Counsel in the largest UK counterfeit coin currency case to date.
