A leading criminal practitioner, classified by the CPS as a Grade 4 prosecutor and a specialist rape counsel, Mark regularly acts as leading junior in cases arising from police operations against organised crime including drugs importation, firearms, kidnapping, confiscation and serious fraud. 

He leads in trials of murder and attempted murder, and prosecutes Operation Trident cases. He was involved in the first prosecution of causing GBH by the reckless transmission of HIV, and has been involved from the outset in the first witness anonymity case referred to the House of Lords. 

Mark has particular expertise in cases involving covert surveillance, telephone and cell site evidence.

He also has experience in courts-martial and disciplinary tribunal work.
